Oliver Stone’s Workshop in 36th FIFF

Oliver Stone, the American Director who came to Iran for being presented in 36th FIFF, has arrived to Tehran last night after seeing Isfahan city.

The main aim for having this famous director in this festival was to teach is one of the workshops of “Darolfonoun”. This is complex of workshops that are held regularly and they can be assumed a one of the highlights of this edition of the festival. Presence of several globally famed director, producer and actor in Iran in this short time can be counted as a great event which has been happened with the efficient programing of the festival team.

Oliver Stone is one of those filmmakers that he evaluates experience and learning as the main two elements in the way of filmmaking and as we know, he has tried and tries to present his knowledge and experience to the students; this is the point that it must be assumed as an opportunity for the cinema fans who are coming to the festival.

The American author director who has won OSCAR is famous because of his different anti-USA attitudes and comments about some of the American leaders and politicians. He is supposed to hold a workshop today in Charsou Cineplex about delicacies of directing and correct principles of casting in a cinematic work.

Stone, who has made rather than 20 important works in his cinematic career as the writer and director, is one of the memorable figures in the history of cinema; a figure that critics believe that he did made every film more powerful and better than previous one.

The director of some masterpieces like “Platoon”, “Born on the 4th of July”, “JFK”, “Natural Born Killers”, “Nikson”, “Snowden”, …seeks to keep the professional principles and rules also the updated criteria of world cinema is looking for making a memorable work for the silver screen of cinema.

Not only Oliver Stone is a famous filmmaker but he is one of the critics of USA’s policies who is well-known because of his comments of that as he is known in Iran as an independent artist.
